Quilted Bolster

I made a red quilted bolster today,

Quilted Bolster

because there was a lot of red on this side of our bedroom,

but none on this side.

My chair

In the grand scheme of things it’s rather meaningless, I know.  This chair was a Christmas gift from Hubby after baby #3 was born.  The kids all call it “Mommy’s chair” and it’s where I go to read, have my quiet time, and relax.  It feels nice to create something small and red to brighten up my little space.

Bolster fabric is 2 prints of Joel Dewberry and one print from a bed sheet I got at Target…on clearance….did I mention that Target bedding is on clearance right now?

    What a nice bedroom.

You should switch the lamps around, to help with the red/white balance…

    Just a thought.

    I love the bolster!

Hi Linda… OK… I’m coming RIGHT OVER to get that chair… and I’ll be needing bolsters too… LOVE THEM… the chair AND the bolster (see you added “texturizing” to the fabric!!!)

THANKS for the tip on the Bedding being on SALE… I’ve been keeping my eye on some things for when we “redo” my daugther’s room!!! I’ll haveta head over that way (after stopping by your house to get the chair and bolsters!!! LOL)

THANKS for sharing your great project!!!

We have a red and white bedroom too and I would love that pillow… ‘covet’ is such a nasty word. It’s beautiful… so is your quilt. I made a few changes in our bedroom since I fell in love with making pillowcases. I’ll post it in a few days!

Love Target clearance. Did you know that if the clearance price ends in a 4 the price will never drop lower? Check it out here: http://www.curbly.com/erinloechner/posts/711-Love-Target-Read-on-

It looks really pretty! And I love how nice and clean your room looks. Mine doesn’t look like that. 🙂

That is so beautiful!!! I really tried to get hubby to agree to red in our bedroom but he wasn’t having it. I think I will show him these pictures so he can see just how lovely it can be. Thank you for taking the time to share the photos of all your pretties🙂

Very nice bolster, and I love the book on the table. 🙂 But please tell me you carried a whole pile of books to the other side of the room to take such a clutter free picture….

  24. 26 Joanna October 13, 2007 at 10:39 am

Beautiful! If I had a chair like that in my bedroom, it would be covered in piles of laundry! BTW, I just ordered some of that Joel Dewberry fabric in red too. Great minds….

It’s beautiful and it looks great on “Your Chair”. Love the read and white in your room. Gotta love that Mommy Chair too.

  26. 28 Queen Bee October 14, 2007 at 5:32 am

I love that bolster, it looks great on that chair. I’d love a chair like that but I know it would end up with piles of clothes on it!

  27. 30 Melanie October 14, 2007 at 1:52 pm

Very pretty using red and white in the bedroom -almost Swedish effect?

Your chair looks so comfy too. Mine is having a make-over…still.

  28. 31 Penny October 14, 2007 at 3:44 pm

The bolster is a very nice addition to your bedroom!

  29. 32 Amy October 17, 2007 at 12:30 pm

Meaningless? I don’t think so! That bolster is awesome. Really! It’s fantastic. And, what a great tie-in with the room…

  30. 33 Pieces October 17, 2007 at 4:29 pm

Very pretty! I agree that a little red on that side of the room is perfect. I love those Joel Dewberry fabrics. I just ordered some in different colorways to make the mini patchfolios out of!

  31. 34 Jody October 18, 2007 at 11:53 am

Dang, you have a beautiful bedroom! I love the red, and the bolster fits in so perfectly. I wonder if my bedroom would look nice without the dusty boflex and eliptical trainer … sigh …

  32. 35 Hilari October 18, 2007 at 1:09 pm

Gosh darnit, you’re talented! That’s a perfect bolster. And I wish my bedroom looked like yours, complete with Mommy Chair, even though I don’t have kids.

  33. 36 cindy October 19, 2007 at 9:41 am

That is a cute bolster and what a wonderful little Mommy Space. I need to get me a little piece of Peace!🙂

  34. 37 Denise October 20, 2007 at 9:57 am

Love the red and white bolster. Red and white is so calm and lively at the same time, perfect for your get away spot. I can see you using it to prop up your arm while reading a book.

  35. 38 Cheryl October 20, 2007 at 3:10 pm

The Robbing Peter quilt is one of my all time favorites. Nice job on the bolster, it compliments the quilt quite
    nicely!

  36. 39 weirdbunny October 22, 2007 at 4:13 am

What a lovely material you chose for the bolster. Your room IS very pretty. That is one of my favourite decorator and bag etc. colours right now. Great job!

  40. 43 Junie November 3, 2007 at 1:22 am

Did you make your quilt and shams, too? They’re just beautiful, but the bolster is LOVELY. (Are you the same person who said she’s afraid of sewing clothing? Surely you’re kidding! Your work is so nice!)
