A Birthday Gift for Haley

This is the “I’m so glad I save my scraps” cushion.

haley's cushion

It’s not the first time I’ve appliqued circles on squares, but I was re-inspired by A Stich in Dye’s twinkle quilts (did you see her on the cover of Quilting Arts?).  I should clarify that she dyes her fabrics (yes, hand dyes her fabrics *sigh* – just beautiful).  My circles are appliqued.

Hayley is turning 5.  I hope she likes it – if not now, then at least when she’s older!

Linda, that is really beautiful! Such an inspiring idea – I often overlook making pillows/cushions, yet they are always such a welcome gift.

Cute pillow!!!!! wow! I love it. My Grandma made me a patchwork pillow when I first moved away from home and my 3 yr old now says it is hers forever. I need to learn to make more! I love your blog. I am a newbie and can’t wait to read more. Have a great day.

I read all the replies and I agree with them all. But I had to say it also, it really is beautiful. What fabrics did you use?

I’m with you. The assistant at the fabric store recommended the hair clip method to me just the other day. I tried it and I’ve got to say, I think pins are superior. Oh well, horses for courses I guess!
